CANOPY DOORS & GARAGE DOOR OPENERS

Canopy doors, so called because the lifting gear cannot lift them into a hozontal position when fully open.  

When it is lifted to the fully open position the canopy door is partly in the garage leaving some of the door jutting out of the garage.

An additional device - a Canopy Converter - to enable the garage door opener to function correctly must fitted to Canopy Doors & Garage Door Openers.

To be certain of a door being suitable you should act like a garage door opener. Just for a moment or two.

Check by hand. Grab the top of your closed door at the top - in the centre, and walk backwards to pull it open - if you can do so. Then close it by walking forward. 

Supposing you can operate it with one hand. Do it again and this time watch the hand which grabs the door. If it rises and falls as it moves backwards and forwards then fitting an opener without using a canopy device is not likely to be successful project.
