Why so many Garage Door Openers?
Today's automatic garage doors are numerous and colourful.
You can see offerings of up to 6 or 8 models offered by a manufacturer and you'd be likely to ask "Why so many? They all look the same apart from the colour - and the prices. Of course."
But the best are these - the latest designs. Your child safety, pet safety, circuitry safety, safest electric doors and best for electric gates safety are paramount. Automatic garage doors, for Automatic garage doors best child and pet safety means that automatic garage doors are created by adding a garage door opener to your existing door. There's no magic about that. Been like that for donkeys years now. There are one or two differences I'd like to elaborate on.
Then and Now. We used to have totally different garage door openers. All two of them with an odd foreign import here and there. Development over the past 40 years to 2009 has dispensed with the mains driven motors - by and large. The range offered now to run on low voltage DC motors means:
They are less costly to produce. Which means
- YOU PAY LOTS LESS.
- The solid state circuitry can be more precisely controlled. Low voltage motors ARE ENERGY SAVERS - they use less energy and are more easily monitored by the control board.
-
Present day designs are UNLIKELY TO HARM CHILDREN (and their parents) pets - cars and whatever else gets in the way when the doors are closing.
-
Today's garage door opener kit is a plug-in affair and you can fit it without falling foul of the electrical installation regulations. IT'S SIMPLER & EASIER TO FIT.
Whereas previously the ancient versions were expensive, cumbersome, inclined to cause suffering to children, animals, and other humans as well as cars, the present offering is a totally different ketttle of fish.
Obstructions. For starters the emergency or safety circuitry was previously a mechanical device. This translates to cumbersome sometimes ineffective with a "Ouch - that hurt" reaction compared with the "oops", of OUR present day models. You'll probably now know which are a safer, cheaper and most of all very popular.
Another important then and now difference - reliability.
Installation is simplified.
But what about the prices ?
Oops don't forget the Safety too
So why, to get back to the earlier question, why are there so many models in one range?
